We did it, Sugar and me, womanned and bitched our own table with The Little Log Cabin goodies – – – and plenty of lolly pops and teddy bear sweets for the kiddies!
I drank plenty of Tim Horton’s coffee (thx to Fiance and a good thermos flask!) But hated the humidity of the day (today is pouring in buckets!)
Wasn’t a huge success…but got a feel for what this particular event was about, namely people clearing out their old junk, selling it for next to nothing. I bought a pretty, square, wicker basket, the 4 sides decorated with straw(?) fruit; a handheld mirror from the 30’s or 40’s (cos I loved the design on the back of it, which reminded me of medieval embroidery, also I like to collect from that period); and a couple of craft mags, one of which I gave to Mum…
Mum’s homemade greeting cards sold well. especially the cute dollys! 😀
Although my various jewellery and bags / purses were admired no one bought…I assume due to the fact that this was just the wrong event for that.
I sold a few old books (I’m too much of a bookworm, needing to regularly go through all my reading material, which is usually donated to charity shops, family or friends) and was pleased that someone bought a jar of my apple chutney.
All in all, a worthwhile experience, nice meeting the neighbours and holiday makers and getting an idea of what this particular event is really about!
